(TeaParty.org) – On Tuesday, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that although Bill Cosby has been accused, tried, convicted, and sentenced for rape, his star will not be removed from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This came shortly after Cosby was sentenced to 3-to-10 years in prison, after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in his home 14 years ago. While this is the only crime he has been tried for, dozens of other women have claimed Cosby drugged and assaulted them as well.
Legally speaking, Cosby is a “sexually violent predator.” As far as Hollywood is concerned, however, his legacy is still worthy of being canonized in the form of his Walk of Fame star.
“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historical record of entertainment figures past and present. Once installed, the stars become part of the historic fabric of the Walk of Fame, a ‘designated historic cultural landmark,’ and are intended to be permanent,” the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce explained in a statement.
“The stars only commemorate the recipient’s professional accomplishments,” the statement continued.
“It is regrettable when the personal lives of inductees do not measure up to public standards and expectations; however, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce does not remove stars from the Walk of Fame.”

Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable has been circulating a petition to have Cosby’s star removed, and will present it to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Monday, according to CBS Los Angeles, which is when Cosby is due back in court for a two-day sentencing hearing on his felony conviction for sexual abuse.
“By keeping the Cosby star and ignoring the demand of thousands for removal the Chamber violates its own rules that an honoree must make worthy contributions to the community,” Lost Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson said in a statement. “Cosby’s horrendous documented sexual abuses hardly qualify as worthy contributions to the community.”
In 2015, the chamber turned down a request to remove Cosby’s star, and they are apparently sticking to their guns.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s star, which was placed on the Walk of Fame in 2007 for his wildly successful reality show, “The Apprentice”, is subject to frequent vandalism simply for being a polarizing political figure.
Most recently a 24-year-old man destroyed the star with a pickaxe, which copied a similar, but less successful incident in 2016. While these are the most noteworthy incidents, the site of Trump’s star is subject to frequent incidents of vandalism, including earlier this month, when a street “artist” covered the star up with wooden bars in the hopes of expressing that Trump was “going to jail”, according to CNN.
Obviously, these are the kinds of things Hollywood loves to see, while they pathetically excuse Cosby’s convicted rape to keep his star on the Walk of Fame.
These are the people who have brought you #MeToo and #TimesUp, by the way.
But here they show their true colors–they don’t care about actual victims of rape, just anything they can use for political leverage or virtue signaling.
