{FD} Cuomo order against defunct NC bathroom bill means swim team must stay in another state

Athlete swimmers from a group of colleges in Upstate New York may be at a severe disadvantage at this monthÃâ‚â„s NCAA championship in North Carolina thanks to a 2016 executive order signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo in response to the southern stateÃâ‚â„s transgender Ãâ‚Å”bathroom banÃâ‚ï that was repealed two years ago. Over a dozen students from across three schools under the State University of New York (SUNY) system qualified for the Division III Swimming Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, but under the current order from Albany, which bans publically funded travel to the Tar Heel State, the team will have to stay over an hour away from the competition site in neighboring Virginia.
