{FD} DOJ seeks $72M to hire more than 100 immigration judges, attorneys to help clear massive asylum backlog

In its budget request for the upcoming fiscal year, the Justice Department said it needs over $72 million to fund the “stronger enforcement of the nationâ€â„¢s immigration laws,âە¿½ according to materials released Monday, in an aggressive move intended to reduce the nation’s backlog of asylum cases dramatically.
